Bison Hill Welcomes New Personnel

OBU recently announced the addition of nine new staff members across campus. The new staff will work in a variety of positions including wellness, information systems, ministry and facilities management.

David Gardner is a new Recreation and Wellness Center facility assistant and intramural sports director. Each year, more than 600 students, faculty and staff participate in the the McDowell Family Intramural Program on campus. Gardner said this year he hopes 1,000 people in the OBU community will participate in the intramural program.

Sara Fisher and Dereck Hale have been named dispatch/switchboard operators. The dispatch/switchboard operators are responsible for daily operation of the switchboard for OBU and will dispatch officers for the University Police Department. They also will monitor surveillance cameras.

Sonia Jones is administrative assistant for events, conferences and camps. She is the primary contact for scheduling the use of the Geiger Center and catering services of OBU’s food service provider. She assists the director in numerous capacities related to managing the internal and external use of the conference and banquet facilities of the GC and other facilities on campus.

LaDonna Land is a residence facility officer for Kerr Residence Center, Jonathon Wood is a residence facility officer for Agee Residence Center, and Richard Smith is a residence facility officer for Howard Residence Center. Jeffery Wiseman has been promoted from security corporal to security sergeant. Residence facility officers are non-commissioned safety personnel who provide basic safety services to students residing in OBU housing.

Brian Levings

Steven Lasiter is a new programmer/analyst in information systems and services. The programmer/analyst provides support for various IT software systems and the staff using those systems. He also will develop, debug and document software and supports interfaces for various Web-based software needs.

Brian Levings is the new student ministry intern. His work involves championing the charge from Scripture to “love each other,” providing leadership, training and management in the area of spiritual formation for the OBU student body through small groups and Baptist Collegiate Ministry-related opportunities.
