Moore Joins College of Arts and Sciences

Mollie Moore has been named an instructor of English in OBU's College of Arts and Sciences. She joined the faculty for the commencement of the 2010-11 academic year.

Moore earned a bachelor's degree with honors from Hardin-Simmons University in 2007. She earned a master's degree in English from Baylor University in 2010. She previously worked as a teaching assistant at Baylor, teaching two sections of freshman composition classes.

She was a poetry prize winner at Baylor University in 2009, with her winning entry, "Grandaddy's Shirt," published in Baylor's literary magazine, "The Phoenix." She served as literary editor of "Corral," the literary journal of Hardin-Simmons University, in 2007.

In 2006, Moore served as an Innovator missionary for the North American Mission Board at Grand Canyon Baptist Church. In 2007, she was an international student at Lijiang Educational College in Lijiang, China, where she learned about the Chinese language and culture.
