The Oklahoma Baptist University Recreation and Wellness Center will continue a long-time partnership with instructors Mark Ruiz and Marian Salwierak to provide swimming lessons this summer. They will be assisted by Betty Ruiz and Shirley Cummings. Lessons will be offered June 1-July 2 on Monday through Friday mornings.
Registration for swimming lessons is Saturday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the OBU Recreation and Wellness Center on University Drive. Attendees may want to arrive early to obtain a place in line.
Children are invited to learn the lifelong skill of swimming this summer through lessons at Oklahoma Baptist University's Recreation and Wellness Center.
Swimming lessons are available for children ages 4 and older of all swimming abilities. During registration, the instructional staff will test and monitor each child for proper class level placement. At that time, parents can register for the specific session and class time.
Classes for preschool children ages 4 and 5 will last 40 minutes and will run for two-week sessions June 1-11 or June 21-July 2. The cost is $45.
Classes for children ages 6 and older will last 50 minutes and will run for one week. Those sessions are offered June 7-11, June 14-18, June 21-25 and June 28-July 2. The cost is $25.
