A one-day national leadership development summit will be available in the Shawnee community via a live broadcast on Friday, May 7, at Oklahoma Baptist University.
The Chick-fil-A Leadercast -- featuring noted business leaders Jim Collins, Ed Bastian, and Jim Goodnight, along with best-selling author John C. Maxwell and NFL champion coach Tony Dungy -- will be hosted in OBU's Tulsa Royalties Auditorium. The first session begins at 8 a.m. and the event concludes at 3 p.m.
Heritage Church and OBU are sponsoring the local conference site. The event will be broadcast live from Atlanta, Ga. It is sponsored by Chick-fil-A and Giant Impact, a global firm which "influences influencers to impact the world." Giant Impact's president and CEO is Jeremie Kubicek, a Shawnee High School graduate and 1993 OBU graduate. The Chick-fil-A Leadercast was formerly called the Maximum Impact Simulcast.
"This event is designed to help individuals learn from some of the world's best leaders," said Jay Sampson, pastor of Heritage Church. "This is a local opportunity to be better equipped to make a difference at work, at home and in the community."
Keynote speakers include Collins, author of the best-selling book "Good to Great;" Maxwell, a best-selling leadership author; Bastain, president of Delta Air Lines, and Goodnight, CEO of SAS Institute Inc. Dungy, who guided the Indianapolis Colts to the NFL championship in the 2006 season, will appear via a pre-recorded interview.
The Leadercast is designed to cover five areas of leadership: keys to connecting with others; how to set yourself apart from the competition; new ideas for creative problem solving; best practices for creating strong team cultures; and how to avoid, detect and reverse decline.
Other program personalities include Chip Heath, author of "Made to Stick;" Ben Carson, a professor and neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins; Connie Podesta, an expert in psychology and leadership; Steve Uzzell, an award-winning corporate photographer; and Mark Sanborn, best-selling author of "The Fred Factor."
Cost for the local broadcast is $40 per person, with $5 per person discounts offered to groups of 10 or more. To order tickets, call 405-273-0603 or send an e-mail to email@example.com. Tulsa Royalties Auditorium is on the first floor of OBU's Bailey Business Center.
