Art ‘Runs Through My Veins,’ Senior Says

Art "is what I do, it's how I keep my sanity, it's what I love, and it runs through my veins," said Ashley Reagan, an Oklahoma Baptist University senior art major from Bixby, Okla., who said she uses art to interpret her life experiences and express her passions.
OBU is hosting a series of senior art shows throughout the spring semester depicting each artist's favorite pieces in accordance with their chosen theme. "I bleed heART" is the theme of Reagan's show which will be featured in the on-campus Art Division Gallery from April 25-May 5.

Reagan uses mostly acrylics with a mixture of photography in her show. She said she has a passion for photography and hopes to pursue a career involving the medium. She also incorporates a wide variety of dragons into her display - dragons made from clay, tape, paper and even a few painted on canvas.
Reagan said art has become everything she is and does.
"I fell in love with art my junior year in high school," Reagan said. "I did not know I had any artistic ability before that."
Following graduation, Reagan, 22, plans to continue her passion for art, including studying photography.
"I'm planning on going to Tulsa to take photography classes at Tulsa Community College, and I will hopefully get the experience I need there that will help me establish a photography career," Reagan said.
