Butler to Present Senior Recital April 18

Oklahoma Baptist University student Spring Butler will present her senior recital Sunday, April 18, at 3 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium. The public is invited to attend the free performance.

Butler is a senior pianist from Grapevine, Texas. She is the daughter Debbie Butler. At OBU, Butler has been named to the Dean's Honor Roll and has been involved in Sigma Alpha Iota, Pi Kappa Lambda and Phi Eta Sigma. She served on the sophomore class cabinet in 2007-08, she has served as SAI treasurer from 2008 to the present, and she was featured as a Concerto-Aria Concert soloist this year.

Butler's recital partially fulfills the requirements for the bachelor of music degree in piano performance with an emphasis in pedagogy. She is from the studio of Michael Dean, OBU assistant professor of music.

The program will include works by composers from the 1600s through modern day including Haydn, Bach, Petri, Shostakovich, Liszt and Debussy.

The audience is invited to a reception in Raley Chapel room 142 immediately following the recital.
