Oklahoma Baptist University's Women's Glee Club - the Bisonettes - will perform at First Baptist Church, 218 S. Sixth Street, in Ponca City, Okla., on Sunday, April 18, during the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The public is invited to attend the free performance.
The Bisonettes perform under the direction of Jack Pearson, OBU professor emeritus of music who has directed the Club for more than 30 years.
The group was organized in 1954 by Warren M. Angell, former dean of the College of Fine Arts. Members are selected through annual auditions and represent various academic areas of the university. The female glee club performs at many campus events, including chapel services, Homecoming and Hanging of the Green. They also visit many Oklahoma churches each year.
