Nelson to Present Senior Recital March 30

Oklahoma Baptist University student Malerie Nelson will present her senior recital Tuesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium. The public is invited to attend the free performance.

Nelson, a pianist, will be playing selections from composers such as Scarlatti, Beethoven, Liszt, Debussy and Chopin.

The recital partially fulfills the requirements for the bachelor of music degree with an emphasis in piano. Nelson is from Sherman, Texas, and is the daughter of Kevin and Dara Nelson. She has been the secretary of the University Chorale and is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. She has received the Phi Theta Kappa scholarship and has been named to the President's Honor Roll.

Nelson is from the studio of Dr. Carol Ann Bell, an OBU associate professor of piano. Following graduation, Nelson plans to journey overseas for mission work.

Nelson extended thanks to Dr. Bell for her hard work and support. She also thanked her family for their continual, dedicated support throughout the years and their endurance of her countless hours of practice.

Following the recital, the audience is invited to a reception in the Raley Chapel Room 142.
