November 5, 2009
Dr. Roger Flint, Oklahoma Baptist University associate professor of accounting, recently earned his doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
Flint earned his bachelor's degree from Southwest Baptist College (now Southwest Baptist University) and his master's degree from Southwest Missouri State University. He also is a certified public accountant.
"Students have been calling Roger Flint ‘Dr. Flint' for years because of his obvious expertise in his discipline," said Dr. Debbie Blue, OBU senior vice president for academic affairs. "It is gratifying that his title finally matches his long-held personal standards.
"I got to be the first from OBU to congratulate and call him ‘Dr. Flint,'" Blue said. "Since we came to OBU the same year, it was quite an honor for me to say that to my dear friend."
The courses Flint teaches include Principles of Accounting I and II; Not-for-Profit Accounting and Other Financial Reporting Issues; and Advanced Accounting.
