Kinesiology Professor Gina Kraft Earns Doctorate

Dr. Gina Kraft, Oklahoma Baptist University assistant professor of kinesiology and leisure studies, earned her doctorate in philosophy in health, leisure and human performance, with an option in health and human performance on July 31 from Oklahoma State University.

The classes Kraft instructs this semester include: basic nutrition, exercise physiology, teaching and designing individual fitness activities, wellness lifestyle, and cardio boot camp. Kraft also teaches care and prevention of athletic injuries, nutrition for sport, exercise physiology II, advanced athletic injury recognition, evaluation and management, exercise assessment and prescription, and program design for fitness and sport activities.

Prior to the opening of OBU's Recreation and Wellness Center, Kraft had served as the wellness director for OBU. During the 2008-09 academic year, Kraft served as a part-time athletic trainer, working mostly with women's basketball.

Kraft received her bachelor's degree from OBU, and she earned her master's degree at the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
