Oklahoma Baptist University alum Micah Jones recently had a research article published during the Association for Computer Machinery conference. The article, entitled "Aspect-Oriented In-Lined Reference Monitors," was published at the 2008 ACM SIGPLAN third workshop on programming languages and analysis for security. The conference took place in Tucson, Ariz., on June 8.
Jones graduated summa cum laude from OBU in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He now attends the University of Texas at Dallas where he is working on his doctorate in computer science. Along with his adviser, Dr. Kevin Hamlen, Jones worked on the paper for about six months.
"At OBU, I was able to develop a strong work ethic, which was absolutely necessary for a project of this sort," Jones said. "I also developed strong communication and critical thinking skills that were equally as necessary."
He thanked his OBU professors for their dedication to his education and their inspiration.
"Dale and Cindy are both fantastic professors, with a strong commitment to their students," said Jones, referring to Dr. Dale Hanchey, OBU's McCasland Associate Professor of Computer Science, and Dr. Cindy Hanchey, OBU's Wheeler Chair of Business and Associate Professor of Computer Science.
"I owe a great deal to their investment in my education," he said. "I certainly believe that OBU's uncompromising education has served me well."
