August 12, 2008
Oklahoma Baptist University recently named Tony Tyler as director of men's housing. In this capacity, Tyler will oversee the residents and staff in Agee Resident Center, MacArthur Apartments, Midland Apartments and East Devereaux Apartments on campus, managing both residential life and the facilities.
The Meeker, Okla., resident is a 2007 graduate of the university where he was a religion major with a Bible emphasis.
"I am excited about this position because of the great opportunity to work with both the students and the Residential Life staff," Tyler said. "This position will provide an opportunity to work with great people."
Tyler previously worked as OBU's local outreach coordinator in Campus Ministry while he served as youth minister at Good Shepherd Chapel in Shawnee.
"We are glad to have him on staff because he has a unique ability to connect to students," said Michael Burns, OBU's director of residence life and student activities. "He is very connected to serving the Shawnee community and a great asset to our team. He is excited about the position, which really excites us."
