White Signs With Volleyball Squad
Poteet High School senior Tasha White has signed to play volleyball with Oklahoma Baptist University when the program begins anew next fall.

White, from Mesquite, Texas, is the daughter of Scott and Brenda White. An outside hitter, White was voted Best Offensive Player on her high school team, leading them to the regional quarterfinals. A four-year Honor Roll Student, she was Academic All-District in 2007.

"I absolutely love the environment and people at OBU," White said. "Everyone was so welcoming. I know OBU will challenge me academically and athletically and at the same time help me grow in my walk with Christ! What more could I ask for?"

OBU started volleyball in 1975, but the program was discontinued after the 1987 season and the Lady Bison take the court for the first time since then in 2008.

OBU hired former Big XII co-Libero of the Year Anna Monsen as its head volleyball coach.
