Kimberly Michelle Galarza, a senior at San Jacinto Christian Academy in Amarillo, has signed to continue her volleyball career at Oklahoma Baptist University.

Galarza, the daughter of Deborah Galarza, was a three-time team MVP, All-District and All-State selection. She also was twice named Athlete of the Week.

"I believe I will have great success at OBU," Galarza said. "The campus seems very welcoming and they have what I need academically. OBU is giving me an opportunity for a brighter future."

OBU started volleyball in 1975, but the program was discontinued after the 1987 season and the Lady Bison take the court for the first time since then in 2008.

OBU hired former Big XII co-Libero of the Year Anna Monsen as its head volleyball coach.
