Lady Bison End Season at SAC Tourney
A 9-1 loss to St. Gregory's and a 4-3 setback to Oklahoma Christian ended Oklahoma Baptist University's 2008 softball season Friday at Hall of Fame Stadium.

Lady Bison freshman Alyssa Henkes broke the school's single-season hits record during the action.

Entering the day two hits shy of Kayla Hubbard's 2002 record of 70, Henkes, an outfielder from Edmond, tied the record with a pair of singles against St. Gregory's. She added another in the finale to finish with a record 71.

The lone Lady Bison scored its lone run against SGU in the fourth inning when Henkes singled and scored on a double to the left field fence by Hilary Davis.

Brooke Stevens had a double and Kaley Dickerson a single to round out the offense.

OBU trailed OC 1-0 after one inning, but took a 2-1 lead in the fourth when Jayme Boyer walked and scored on a two-run home run by Sonya Beach.

Oklahoma Christian took a 3-2 lead in the fifth, but OBU tied the game in the sixth when Boyer singled, moved to second on a base hit by Henkes and scored on an error.

OC won the game with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Seven Lady Bison had one hit each in the game.

The losses brought to a close the college careers of seniors Stevens, Davis, Pate, Brittney Day and Whitney Heltzel.
