Bethel High School senior Ashlee Washburn has signed to play softball at Oklahoma Baptist University, beginning in the 2008-09 school year.

Washburn, a catcher and outfielder, is the daughter of Christy and Dean Washburn.

"Ashlee and OBU are a good fit," said Lady Bison coach Pam Fink. "She's a terrific person and student off the field and she's as tough as nails on the field."

Washburn was Senior Class President, National Honor Society secretary and an Academic Letter Jacket winner at Bethel High. She plans to major in occupational therapy.

"OBU is a great college with great people and a good Christian environment," Washburn said.
