Senior art student Megan Jones will display her senior art exhibition in Oklahoma Baptist University's Art Gallery April 1-12. A gallery reception will be Thursday, April 3, from 6:15-10:00 p.m. in the OBU Art Building.
The Muskogee, Okla. resident hopes to show her creative growth as an artist through her exhibition, "Anatomy of an Artist."
"I want to represent all the things that inspire me or that have made me grow creatively since I've started on the path to becoming an artist," said Jones.
Jones' exhibition contains pieces which reflect her inspirations as an artist, which she hopes will create an interest in others toward the art world.
"I'm hoping people will have fun with my show and it can be something that is interactive and even a little inspirational," said Jones. "I hope my show will be able to show the passion I have for creating art and the art world itself."
While looking through her old work to see what best represents her growth as an artist, Jones saw growth in her thinking and attitude towards art as well, she said.
"My professors have really pushed me to refine my technical skills and creative thinking to make me grow as an artist," said Jones. "Art is more than just a hobby for me. It's a way of life."
The art exhibit fulfills part of the requirements for a bachelor's degree in art.
The schedule of senior art students' exhibitions include:
April 13-24: Susanna Green
April 24-May 6: Michael Elizondo
May 7-16: Lauren Aycock
