A pair of mild upsets took place on the Oklahoma Baptist University tennis courts Thursday in two Top 25 showdowns.
The No. 25 Lady Bison knocked off 22nd-ranked Oklahoma Christian, while the No. 25 Eagles returned the favor against the 23rd-ranked OBU men.
The Lady Bison won 5-4, while OC upended the OBU men 7-2.
Brooke Mowery, Camber Robinett and Kaitlin Pascucci all had big days for the Lady Bison. Mowery and Robinett won their No. 2 doubles match 8-3. Robinett also scored a 6-1, 6-3 win over Vanessa Chenouard in No. 4 singles. Mowery defeated Callie Draelos by the same score in No. 5 singles.
Pascucci and Katie Halbesleben knocked off Draelos and Piper Johnson in No. 3 doubles, 8-5, with Pascucci topping Chelsea Reagan, 7-5, 6-0 in No. 6 singles.
Gustavo Schaefer had the hot hand for the Bison, knocking off Adalid Martinez in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-4 and teaming up with Bruno Scacalossi for a No. 1 doubles win over Justin DeBruin and Derek Viljoen, 8-6.
The Lady Bison, now 7-8, host Southern Nazarene Friday at 2 p.m. The OBU men, now 5-9, play in the Blue-Grey Tournament in Alabama April 2-6, where they will be joined by the Lady Bison.
