Bison Lose at RSU, 8-7
After trailing hosts Rogers State 7-1, Oklahoma Baptist University tied the score but could not pull off a win in Sooner Athletic Conference baseball action Thursday, losing 8-7.

Frank Avilla scored on a sacrifice fly by Josh Kirkpatrick in the second but the Bison trailed 7-1 after two complete innings.

OBU picked up two runs on a two-run home run by Mason Reilly and made it a 7-5 game in the sixth when Josh Collazo lifted a two-run home run.

Chris Chambers hit a solo home run to start the seventh inning to bring the Bison to within a run. OBU tied the game in the eighth when Kyle Cooper doubled home Billy Thomas.

Derek Edwards (4-1) gave up a run in the eighth to absorb his first loss of the season despite working a previous three innings without a run.

Thomas had three of OBU's nine hits in the game.

The Bison, with the loss, drop to 10-6 in the SAC and 26-7 overall as RSU improved to 9-9 and 18-10. The two teams meet again in Shawnee Saturday for a 1 p.m. double header.
