Tennis Teams Win Six During Break
Oklahoma Baptist University's Spring Break tennis tour to Florida was met with moderate success last week.

The Bison were 3-4 on the trip, while the Lady Bison collected a 2-4 record.

Lindsey Wilson knocked off the OBU women 5-0 in Bowling Green, Ky. Brittany Byrd forced a third set in No. 2 singles, but that was the lone highlight for the Lady Bison.

It was then on to Daytona Beach where Embry Riddle solved OBU 9-0, again with Byrd at No. 2 singles putting up the most resistance.

The Lady Bison got back on track with an 8-1 win over St. Petersburg in Orlando, Fla. All of OBU's doubles teams scored victories with Brooke Mowery-Camber Robinett and Kaitlin Pascucci-Katie Halbesleben tossing shutouts in No. 2 and No. 3.

Pascucci also won her No. 6 singles slot in shutout sets.

OBU then knocked off Webber 7-2 in Babson Park, Fla.. Mowery won her No. 5 singles match in 6-1, 6-0 fashion for the most dominating performance. OBU won five of six singles matches and two of three doubles contests.

The week then down-turned with losses to Georgetown College in Orlando, 6-3, and Northwood (Fla.), 7-2, in Palm Beach. OBU got wins against Georgetown from singles entrants Samantha Attard, Byrd and Mowery.

Attard had the winning hand against Northwood, claiming the No. 1 singles victory and then teaming up with Byrd for the No. 1 doubles win.

The Lady Bison are 5-8 on the season.

The Bison topped Philadelphia 8-1, including a 6-0, 6-0, shutout at No. 1 singles by Bruno Scacalossi and an 8-0 win in No. 3 doubles by Peter McCorkle and Michael Canavan.

The Bison then beat Georgetown 6-3 with Gustavo Schaefer coasting in No. 4 singles to a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Scacalossi gutted out a three-set win in No. 1 singles.

OBU downed Northwood's men 7-2 with McCorkle holding on for a three-set victory at No. 3 singles, while Schaefer again shut out his No. 4 opponent.

Lindsey Wilson blanked OBU 5-0, while Embry Riddle and Cornell both handed the Bison 9-0 setbacks. Webber topped OBU 7-2 with Scacalossi and Schaefer picking up singles wins.

The Bison are now 6-7 on the season.
