Oklahoma Baptist moved into the Sooner Athletic Conference semifinals, coasting past Wayland Baptist 67-51 Friday.

"It's a great win," said OBU coach John McCullough. "Any tournament win is a great win. This was a good chance to work on our offense. We did our assignments right."

The Lady Bison trailed twice early, but Ashley Gamble scored a three-pointer to trigger a 15-3 run to give OBU the lead for good.

Wayland trailed by as many as 12 in the half and OBU held a 32-21 advantage at intermission.

The Lady Bison led by as many as 20 in the second half as OBU went on an 11-6 run that included a rare three-pointer by Betsy Simmons.

"As long as it goes in, it's good coaching," joked McCullough.

Simmons led OBU with 17 points and had seven rebounds. Taujhnae Travis came off the bench for 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Now 28-3, the Lady Bison play in the semifinals at 8 p.m. against Southern Nazarene or USAO.
