Discipleship Author To Speak At OBU Woman’s Day
February 28, 2008
Marilyn Fine, a noted discipleship leader, will be the featured speaker at Oklahoma Baptist University's annual Woman's Mission and Ministry Day on Wednesday, March 26.
The annual celebration will begin at 10 a.m., as Fine speaks during OBU's weekly Chapel service in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium.
Fine and her husband, Jerry, co-wrote the popular discipleship guide One on One with God. The guide, which includes a 15-week discipleship process, has been translated into several languages.
"It is designed as a path that leads to knowing Jesus personally, a lifestyle of walking daily in intimate fellowship with him, and a tool for making disciples and producing disciple makers," she said.
The Fines have worked with young adult couples at Oklahoma City's Northwest Baptist Church for more than 25 years. They also present discipleship programs across the country and abroad.
The Chapel service will be followed by a Woman's Day luncheon at 11:15 a.m. in OBU's Geiger Center. Cost for the luncheon is $10 per person.
"We invite women's groups from across our state to join us for Woman's Day," said Dale Griffin, OBU campus minister. "This is an annual highlight for our campus, and we believe it offers a great time for encouragement, as well as an opportunity to catch up on what is transpiring on the OBU campus."
