Prospective college students have a chance to experience Oklahoma Baptist University for themselves during Winter Preview Day on Saturday, Feb. 2.
High school students and their families will be treated to informative presentations on academic programs, campus life, and financial aid. They also will be the first campus guests to experience “Bisonification,” a high-energy campus tour put together by OBU admissions staff and student volunteers.
OBU’s admissions staff added the winter event to help students learn more about the campus early in the spring semester. Their first Winter Preview Day will be met with cool weather, but travel conditions across the area should not hinder students and their families as they drive to Shawnee. Forecasts for the area project temperatures in the high 40s, with sunny skies and no precipitation.
“This is an an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of OBU in many ways,” said Bruce Perkins, OBU director of admissions.
“Early bird” campus tours begin at 9 a.m. Check-in and registration starts at 9:30 a.m. in OBU’s Raley Chapel.
After a 10 a.m. opening session, participants can attend an academic fair, take a campus tour and sit in on breakout sessions that will cover various topics of interests. Lunch will be provided, and the event will conclude with a closing session at 2:15 p.m.
