OBU Facing Cold Temps in Wisconsin
Oklahoma Baptist University’s cross country teams have left the chilly Oklahoma weather for some downright cold Wisconsin air for the national championship meet.

Temperatures on Saturday in Kenosha, Wisc., are expected to be just above freezing at race time with a slight chance of rain.
OBU finished fourth last year in the men’s national meet and the Lady Bison took 11th.

Michael Elizondo is coming off his best race of the season, having won the Region VI individual title. That helped OBU move up to 10th in the final NAIA rankings.

While the Lady Bison finished second to Wayland Baptist in the rankings, they may be peaking at the right time. All but one of the OBU women had their best time of the season in the regional, helping the team move up just high enough to claim the final at-large berth to Wisconsin.

The men’s race starts at 10:30 a.m. with the women taking the starting line at 11:45, central time, in Wisconsin.
