OBU Public Relations Wins Three OCPRA Awards

Oklahoma Baptist University’s public relations staff won three awards in the 2007 Oklahoma Public Relations Association “Winners Circle” awards competition.

Ray Fink, OBU’s sports information director, won first place in the Sports Writing category for his article “A Prophet not Without Honors.” The story featured OBU student-athlete Prophet Bailey, a member of the Bison track and field team.

Chele Carr, OBU creative services coordinator, claimed third-place in the Smaller Brochure/Flyer/Booklet category for the 2006-07 OBU Theatre Brochure. The piece highlighted shows for the university’s theatre program.

The public relations staff received second-place honors in the Magazine category for the university’s quarterly production, OBU Magazine.

Started in 1969, the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association “provides meaningful networking opportunities and honors the creative imagination of its members and member institutions in their marketing and public relations efforts,” according to the OCPRA website. The association membership is open to all public and private colleges and universities in the state.
