Oklahoma Baptist University recently named two new counselors in the university’s student financial services office.
“In an effort to improve service to our students, we have made some additions and adjustments in responsibilities,” said Trent Argo, OBU dean of enrollment management. “We believe this will enable us to build better relationships with the students and allow us to give each student more personalized attention.”
Charlci Berry joins OBU as student financial services counselor after working for 12 years in Texas school systems. She recently taught in Mission, Texas.
Berry is a 1994 graduate of Abilene Christian University. She earned her bachelor’s degree with a double major in theater and broadcast journalism.
“Charlci is excited about working with OBU students,” said Jonna Raney, OBU director of student financial services. “Coming from a background of Christian education, she truly believes in what OBU stands for and wants to help students achieve the dream of attending OBU.”
Diana Sanders, who served as a student financial services staff assistant for the past year, now serves the office as a student financial services counselor. Sanders holds an associate’s degree from Tulsa Community College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree from OBU.
“Diana has been an important part of the OBU family,” said Raney. “I am pleased to move her into this new role. She will strive to help families as they work out a financial plan to send their child to OBU.”
The student financial services staff also includes Angela Leal, senior student financial services counselor; Tara Colvin, endowed scholarship manager; and Aline Knoles, student loan specialist. Knoles also handles grants and scholarships.
