Young Singers of Central Oklahoma to Offer Auditions

Oklahoma Baptist University’s Young Singers of Central Oklahoma will offer auditions for all returning students April 23-24. Tryouts for the community children and youth choral program will be in OBU’s Raley Chapel room 142.
The YSCO choirs presently have 140 students from ages 7-18 enrolled in the program. Four choirs are offered for students of various age and ability levels. All choirs will meet on Tuesdays next fall at the times indicated below.
Apprentice Choir - beginning level choir, conducted by Amber Crawley (Tuesdays, 4-5 p.m.)
Shawnee Honor Choir - intermediate treble voices, conducted by Conchita Hansford (Tuesdays, 3:45-5 p.m.)
Concert Choir - advanced treble voices, conducted by Dr. Darla Eshelman (Tuesdays, 4-6 p.m.)
Youth Chorale - SATB mixed voices, conducted by Randa Mitchell (Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m.)
Dr. Darla Eshelman, OBU Associate Professor of Music Education serves as director of the YSCO program. The choirs are designed to provide diverse, challenging and quality singing experiences which enhance the growth of each singer and provide enrichment to the community.
Auditions for new students will be offered at the beginning next year's fall semester on August 18 and 19 from 4-6 p.m. Brochures will be mailed to all surrounding schools inviting new students to audition for one of the choirs.
