Adult Piano Class Offered at OBU

Adults who have considered learning to play the piano have the opportunity to gain keyboard skills at Oklahoma Baptist University this spring.

OBU’s Music Preparatory Department will offer an adult piano class for the 2007 spring semester. Conchita Hansford, OBU Music Preparatory director, announced the class will begin in February.

Beverly Talley, one of the preparatory department’s newest instructors, will teach the class. Tally has more than 30 years of teaching experience, Hansford said.

The class is designed for beginners and for students who had lessons as a child. The course offers instruction in music notation, chord playing, technique and theory.

“This class is for the student who wishes their mom had made them continue playing the piano,” said Hansford.
