MacArthur String Quartet In Concert Sunday

The MacArthur String Quartet, a select instrumental group, will be in concert, Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in Oklahoma Baptist University’s Yarborough Auditorium.

The quartet is a joint venture between OBU and the University of Oklahoma. The members of the MacArthur String Quartet are graduate students at OU who also serve as the principal chairs in the OBU/Shawnee Community Orchestra.

“The MacArthur String Quartet brings outstanding chamber music to Shawnee,” said Dr. Paul Hammond, dean of OBU’s Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts. “They make a weekly contribution to our area through their work with the OBU/Shawnee Community Orchestra. I encourage all chamber music lovers to support this fine ensemble.”

The quartet includes Ana Maria Wilson and Suzanne Turpin on violin, Rachel White on viola and Stephanie Lemoine on cello. The concert also will feature special guest David Carter on clarinet.

Yarborough Auditorium is located on the lower level of OBU’s Raley Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.
