OBU to Graduate 258 in Spring Commencement

Two hundred and fifty-eight students will have degrees conferred upon them during Oklahoma Baptist Universityís 2006 Spring Commencement, Saturday, May 20 at 10 a.m. in the universityís Raley Chapel.

Dr. James Vernon, associate professor of music and recipient of OBUís 2005 Distinguish Teaching Award, will deliver the Commencement address.

A capacity crowd of more than 1,800 is expected for the morning graduation exercises. In addition to the address from Dr. Vernon, the program includes greetings by officials from the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma and the OBU Alumni Association. OBU President Mark Brister will preside at the ceremonies, and issue a presidential charge to the graduates.
