Oklahoma Baptist University’s Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach will sponsor two unique seminars led by noted global missions strategist Avery T. Willis.
Dr. Willis, Herschel Hobbs scholar-in-residence at OBU, will lead a class on Chronological Bible Storying March 23-25 and March 30-April 1, the university’s Bailey Business Center. Willis also will teach Church Planting April 20-22 and 27-29, OBU’s Montgomery Hall.
On Thursdays and Fridays, the seminars will meet from 6:30-9 p.m., and on Saturdays the classes will meet from 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Participants can take the classes as for-credit courses or as not-for-credit conferences. Non-credit participants can enroll until the time of the conference, but advanced registration is encouraged, said M.W. director of the Global Outreach Center.
Willis is the executive director of the International Orality Network, a partnership of major missions organizations committed to using oral strategies such as Chronological Bible Storying as a means of evangelizing and discipling the approximately 70 percent of the world’s population which is functionally illiterate. He is the retired senior vice president for overseas operations for Southern Baptists’ International Mission Board.
The cost for each seminar, as a not-for-credit conference, is $25 per person. Textbooks can be purchased on the first night of the course. To register, contact Janet Burns at (405) 878-2229 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
