Like many universities, students at OBU can be seen with Deltas, Omegas, Sigmas and several other Greek words. But at OBU, those groups have different meanings.

There are no frat houses or sororities on Bison Hill. Instead, the social clubs serve more of a purpose at OBU. Instead of parties and hazing, you’ll find OBU social clubs involved in the community in a positive way.

Among other things, OBU students in social clubs get active in Adopt-A-Park (Atheneans), International Awareness Day (Gammas), nursing home ministry (Phi Omegas), Feed the Children ministries (Thetas), inner-city missions (Zetas), and Habitat for Humanity (Sigmas).

Of course, there’s also a lot of good, clean fun, such as camping trips, luaus and the ever-popular Stampede of Stars, a spring event where students divide into teams for healthy Survivor-type competitions.

Each semester, the clubs look to add to their numbers and keep the ministries, projects and fun traditions alive. Look for your opportunity to get to know the clubs better during Rush Week at the beginning of the semester.

Of course, if clubs aren't your thing, you can also get involved through many other service organizations, such as the Volunteer Action Committee, which places student volunteers into community projects.
