Christmas Chapel Scheduled for OBU

Audience sing-alongs, ensemble performances and holiday fun will ring in the Christmas season for Oklahoma Baptist University students at the university's final chapel service of the fall semester, Dec. 6., at 10 a.m. in the university's Potter Auditorium.
Emceed by David Byland, OBU assistant professor of telecommunication, the fine arts Christmas chapel will feature the music ensembles of the Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts.
Dr. Carol Bell, OBU associate professor of piano, will accompany the traditional holiday event.
The Bison Jazz Orchestra, under the director of Pancho Romero, associate professor of music, will perform "Hark the Herald Angels Sing/Angels We Have Heard on High," by Chris MacDonald and "A Christmas Song."
The Brass Quintet will play "Carol Festival," arranged by Hawley Ades and Limited Edition will sing an arrangement of "Fum, Fum, Fum" by Mack Wilberg.
The University Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Nancy Cobb Lippens, professor of music, will perform "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," arranged by John Rutter, and the Chapel Choir, under the direction of Jack Pearson, associate professor of music, will sing "Christmas Day," by Gustav Holtz.
The Bisonettes, also under the direction of Pearson, will perform an arrangement of "A Christmas Portrait," by Jerry Nowak and the Bisonette Ensemble will perform "Mary's Little Boy Child," by Jester Hairston.
The University Ringers handbell choir, directed by Mary Kay Parrish, associate professor of music, will conclude the event with a performance of "Carol of the Bells," arranged by Hart Morris.
The chapel service is free and open to the public.
