1. Who can use the library? Anyone can use the library as long as basic library rules are followed. However, only OBU students, faculty, and staff, or those with a community or OK-Share card have check-out privileges. The use of some databases are restricted to OBU students, faculty and staff.

3. How might students apply to work in the MLC? Applications for student employment may be picked up at the main Circulation Desk or at the Dean of Library Services office on the second floor. Student employment is done by each department head of the library.
4. How do you retrieve a book that a professor has placed on reserve? Reserve books may be checked out at the main circulation desk. Please ask the attendant for assistance. Additionally media reserves are kept in the Media Center (MLC 308).
5. Do you have a lost and found? Lost and found items can be claimed at the main Circulation Desk.
6. How do I begin research in the library? You may want to consult the subject pathfinders located online or in print form in the Reference Room.
7. Where do I get extensive help in using the library? Extensive help in using the Library is found through the website tutorials and the Reference Desk.
8. How do I get assistance after the library is closed? Go to the library's web pages and select the virtual reference desk. There are pathfinders, a virtual tour, tutorials, etc. located on the web site. And, of course, the online databases and electronic book archives are available 24 hours - seven days a week.
9. How do I get a journal article or a book that the library does not have? If you have time to wait, you may go through the ILL (interlibrary loan) process. Since the Mabee Learning Center uses a daily courier service that goes between many libraries located in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Kansas, this may take a few days. However, if you do not have the time to wait, you can apply for an OK-Share card which will allow you limited circulation privileges at another university's library. OK-Share policies are located on the library's website.
10. Where do I find a book review? The first place to look is the Book Review Digest located on the website (electronic version) or in the print periodical index area. You may also look for book reviews in the full-text databases that the Library leases. Finally, there are some websites that specialize in providing book reviews: http://www.refdesk.com or http://www.amazon.com .
11. Where do I find a literary criticism? Literary criticism can be found in the Literary Resource Center - an online database provided by the Library and available through the Library's website. You may also find literary criticism in the Reference Collection. Ask at the Reference Desk for assistance with reference materials.
