Ray Fink

Director of Athletic Media Relations


Ray Fink, a 1985 graduate of OBU, joined the staff as a part-time sports information director in 1993 and was later also hired as the full-time newswriter for the public relations office at OBU. In 2005, he became the full-time sports information director. Including a year as a student SID, Fink has been in the sports information profession for 15 years.

Prior to coming to OBU, Fink worked as a sports editor at the Americus (Ga.) Times-Recorder, earning first place in the Georgia Press Association's Sportswriting Contest in 1991. While at OBU, Fink has won several awards for the university's media guides, including three national first-place honors in 1998, 2001 and 2004. He also took the Grand Award (first place) in the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association's Sports Writing Contest in 2001 and 2007. In 2002, the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association bestowed the Ike Pearson Award upon Fink - the most prestigious honor awarded by NAIA-SIDA.

He is a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Shawnee. Ray and his wife, Pam, have two children -- Kelly and Collin.
