Dr. Michael Dean

Associate Professor of Music


Michael Dean is associate professor of music and coordinator of keyboard studies and accompanying. He also serves as east district co-president of the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association. In demand as a soloist and collaborative artist, Dr. Dean's performances have brought him to numerous locations throughout the United States and Europe. He is a member of the Manno/Dean Piano Duo, which has recently performed for a sold-out audience at the Franz Liszt Museum and Academy in Budapest, Hungary. He also maintains an active schedule as a workshop clinician, adjudicator, and faculty member at summer institutes throughout North America, and presented a session on using Braille music for the visually impaired at the 2013 World Piano Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia. He previously taught at the Wheaton College Conservatory in Illinois. He holds bachelor degrees in piano performance and mathematics from Minnesota State University Moorhead and masters and doctoral degrees in piano performance and piano pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma.
