Dr. Karen Cotter

Assistant Professor of Nursing


Dr. Karen Cotter joined the OBU Nursing faculty as Assistant Professor in Nursing in August 2003. Dr. Cotter is a member of the Oklahoma Nurse Association Board of Directors as the Education director since 2012. Additionally, she serves on the Boards of Directors for Project India, Good Shepherd Ministries, Inc. in Oklahoma City, and Global Women. Global Women is an ecumenical organization that serves and partners with Vulnerable women and indigenous leaders worldwide. Her work experience includes Medical Surgical nursing, Correctional Nursing, and Long Term acute care nursing. Dr. Cotter Travels internationally with students and with groups to provide health care and health teaching to vulnerable populations. She has traveled to Uganda, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, Brazil and Mexico.
