Family Weekend 2014 Schedule

Family Weekend is an opportunity to visit with students on the campus and get a glimpse of how the academic year is going. There are planned activities, but the day is mainly designed to give you time to visit apart from scheduled events. More details will be available at the registration desk, including information from the Shawnee Convention and Visitors Bureau about area attractions and points of interest.

Friday, October 24

5:00 p.m.Campus-Wide Chili Cook-off – There will be chili, live music, and fun for the whole family. Sponsored by the OBU Social Clubs
8:00 p.m.Coffee House
9:30 p.m.Sibling Sleepover” - Younger brothers or sisters of the same gender are invited to stay in your room for the night. Siblings must be 9 or older to stay in campus housing. Please inform your roommate(s) if a sibling is staying the night. Sponsored by Residential Life

Saturday, October 25

8:00 a.m.RAWC open (Free day of fitness for family members)
9:00 a.m.Tree of Life Bookstore open
9:30 a.m.Registration/Check-in - Geiger Center 219
10:00 - 12:00 p.m.Family Photo Time - Take a photo with your family to show off your Bison pride) Near Geiger Center 219.
10:30 a.m.Students / Parents meet with Professors - Geiger Center 218 – 220
Begins at 11:45 a.m.Bison Tailgate Party- Enjoy a pregame tailgate party before cheering on the Bison football team against Texas College!
1:00 p.m.Bison Soccer Game (Women) OBU vs. Wayland Baptist University
2:00 p.m.Bison Football Game – Bison Football vs. Texas College
3:00 Bison Soccer Game (Men) – OBU vs. Wayland Baptist University
noon - 5:00 p.m.Residence Halls Open House – Family members are welcome to visit student residence rooms.
5:00 - 6:30 p.m.Dinner with the Dean - Join the dean of students, Brandon Skaggs, and family at the Laura Scales Cafeteria for dinner and fellowship ($9 for Family Day participants).
8:00 p.m.Freshmen Follies” - Annual variety show sponsored featuring Freshmen students in Potter Auditorium, Raley Chapel. Sponsored by Campus Activities Board (CAB)
