Family Day 2012 Schedule
Family Day is an opportunity to visit with students on the campus and get a glimpse of how the academic year is going. There are planned activities, but the day is mainly designed to give you time to visit apart from scheduled events. More details will be available at the registration desk, including information from the Shawnee Convention and Visitors Bureau about area attractions and points of interest.
Saturday, October 6
| 8:00 a.m. | RAWC open (Free day of fitness for family members) |
| 9:30 a.m. | Tree of Life Bookstore open |
| 10:30 a.m. | Registration/Check-in - Geiger Center 219 |
| 10:30 - 1:00 p.m. | Family Photo Time - Take a photo with your family to show off your Bison pride) Near Geiger Center 219. |
| 11:00 a.m. | Students / Parents meet with Professors - Geiger Center 218 – 220 |
| Begins at Noon | Bison Tailgate Party – Join us near the OBU track for a tailgate lunch. |
| Noon | Women’s Soccer Game – Head to the soccer field to cheer on the Women’s Soccer team against Lubbock Christian University. |
| 1:00 p.m. | Bison Football Intersquad Scrimmage – Come cheer on the Bison as they have their first “game” in 60+ years! (The game is an intersquad scrimmage, but will be fun nonetheless!). |
| 2:00 p.m. | Men’s Soccer Game - Head to the soccer field to cheer on the Men’s Soccer team against Lubbock Christian University. |
| Noon - 5:00 p.m. | “Saturday Shopping in Shawnee” - A chance to visit local shops, diners and business. Spend the day introducing your family to the wonderful city of Shawnee. Pick up your guide at registration. |
| 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. | Residence Halls Open House – Family members are welcome to visit student residence rooms. |
| 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. | “Dinner with the Dean” - Join the dean of students, Brandon Skaggs, and family at the Laura Scales Cafeteria for dinner and fellowship (free for Family Day participants). |
| 8:00 p.m. | “Freshmen Follies” - Annual variety show sponsored by Campus Activities Board in Potter Auditorium, Raley Chapel. |
| Afterhours | “Sibling Sleepover” - Younger brothers or sisters of the same gender are invited to stay in your room for the night. Siblings must be 9 or older to stay in campus housing. Please inform your roommate(s) if a sibling is staying the night. |
