Oklahoma weather drives winter fashion

As the spring semester begins, we find ourselves facing tragedy.
The last few weeks of snow completely devastated any type of schooling that we might have received, and in addition created hazardous living conditions (or at least walking conditions) for many.
As a native Oklahoman, I promise that this will not last long, or so I hope.
Before long there will be no more snow and it will be blazing hot outside, and you’ll be wishing you could still be making snow angels out in front of your dorm, or on top of your friend’s car, or wherever you may have been making them.
So, some tips to keep you warm between now and those hauntingly hot days ahead; wear light layers.
I personally have a tendency of wearing two or three layers, even when it’s scalding hot outside.
The reason this works is if you get hot, you can take a layer off.
If you have a class in Shawnee Hall, then you can put the said layer back on to avoid catching a deathly cold.
Another way to dress is sensibly; this will keep you comfortable. If you insist on wearing a snowsuit to class, first, please don’t sit in front of me.
Second and more importantly you won’t be comfortable, especially if you have to sit for long periods of time (50 minutes).
So from a native to a non-native, don’t be surprised if you see your roommate from down the hall skipping around in shorts by the beginning of March.
We natives realize that the weather in Oklahoma changes as quickly as the popular vote, and occasionally we know better than to listen to the weatherman.
So stay warm, wear lots of clothes and try not to slip and fall on the lovely ice we are bound to have again.
