Pinnock attended Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica. She won the 400 low hurdles in the Penn Relays in 2006 and also ran in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. She was third in the 400 hurdles at 56.67 at the 2006 Junior World Championships in China. She also ran on Jamaica's 4x400 relay.
