Simmons transferred in from the University of Oklahoma last season and became an instant stalwart in the post for the Lady Bison. She was one of two Lady Bison to start all 30 games and averaged over 9 points and 7 rebounds a game while posting 35 blocks on the season.  She earned the state championship title in 2003 and was the MVP of the state tournament in 2003. She also earned All-State honors from Washington High School. She is the daughter of Linda and Bob Simmons.
