Ruiz started 48 games for the Bison in the 2006-07 Season and belted 7 home runs while compiling a .301 batting average after transferring in from Panola Junior College.  He attended Dr. Maria Cadilla High School and is the son of Hector Ruiz and Zaida Cintrón.
