Athletic Training

The Oklahoma Baptist University Athletic Training program has produced many successful professionals in the sports medicine field. “Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC’s) are unique health care providers who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses that occur to athletes and the physically active people” (National Athletic Trainer’s Association).

The mission of the athletic training staff at Oklahoma Baptist University is to prevent and care for athletic injuries as well as to enhance the education of those who choose to be involved in the OBU athletic training program. The staff at OBU help to educate and guide student athletes and student athletic trainers during their time at OBU.

The Athletic Training staff at OBU consists of two certified athletic trainers, student athletic trainers and an array of physicians in many areas of specialization to provide quality care for the 17 sports in the department of intercollegiate athletics.
