When I Arrive In Oklahoma

Orientation
When you begin your career at OBU, there will be a New Students Orientation conducted by the Dean of Student’s Office and a New International Student Orientation conducted by the Director for International Student Relations. The letter with your I-20 will give details. Please plan to attend those sessions.

Airport Transportation

  AUGUST: On the Sunday and Monday before classes begin in the fall, OBU vans will be at the Oklahoma City airport at 12 noon.
  DECEMBER: On the Thursday and Friday of examination week, OBU vans will leave from the Geiger Center at 8.30 a.m. and go to the Oklahoma City airport.
  JANUARY: On the day residence halls open for the January-Term, OBU vans will be at the Oklahoma City airport at 12 noon.
On the Saturday and Sunday before classes begin in the spring, OBU vans will be at the Oklahoma City airport at 12 noon.
  MAY: On the Thursday and Friday of examination week, OBU vans will leave from the Geiger Center at 8.30 a.m. and go to the Oklahoma City airport.


 

PLEASE USE THIS SCHEDULE WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS!!

To reserve a seat on the van, you must call 405.878.2092 at least one week before the date of travel, or email Ive Drummond at ive.drummond@okbu.edu and make sure you receive a reply email confirming your place on the van.

Break Housing

THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS:
To reserve housing at these times, call 405.878.2404 or email monica.mullins@okbu.edu no later than the first Friday in November. You will be notified of your housing assignment by the Friday of the week before Thanksgiving.

SPRING BREAK:
To reserve housing for this break, call 405.878.2404 or email monica.mullins@okbu.edu no later than the last Friday in February. You will notified of your housing assignment by the first Friday in March.


If you need to arrange transportation at other times, you may want to contact Airport Express at 405.681.3311. They provide transportation service to and from Shawnee at almost any time, but you should call for a reservation.
