Financial Aid and OBU Award Timeline

Begin your scholarship search by checking with your high school counselor, your church, your employer, your parents' employers and your OBU admission counselor. Free scholarship search services are also available under "Other Resources." Make notes of the deadlines and materials required for each scholarship.
   
January
Pick up a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your school counselor, OBU's Office of Student Financial Services, or apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
   
February
Complete the FAFSA using your and your parents' income tax return for the previous year. OBU's FAFSA school code is 003164. We recommend that you apply online at fafsa.ed.gov. Follow the instructions carefully and don't leave any blanks. Oklahoma residents should give permission to have the results of the financial need analysis sent to the Oklahoma State Grant (OTAG) program.

March
OBU will begin mailing award packages to admitted students with complete financial aid files.

Make sure you have been officially accepted for admission by OBU in order to be awarded any scholarships, awards or financial aid.

OBU should receive your financial aid application results electronically four to six weeks after you mailed your FAFSA to the Processing Center and sooner if you apply electronically. Complete your financial aid file. Submit an OBU Student Data Form and supply any additional documents requested by the Office of Student Financial Services.
   
April
Be sure to respond to the Office of Admissions or Student Financial Services accepting or declining any scholarships, awards, or financial aid you have been offered.
   
After April: If at any time your financial situation changes drastically from what you filed on the FAFSA, contact the Office of Student Financial Services.
   
June
Choose a payment plan. In order to help you pay the difference between your cost of education and your financial aid OBU offers a convenient 3-payment or 5-payment plan.
