Minimum requirements for the baccalaureate degree are 128 semester hours of course work. All students complete a program of Common Core and Flex Core courses, and courses in an area of concentration, or major and minor courses, to bring the degree program to the minimum of 128 hours; some professional programs require more than this total number of hours. A minimum of 39 hours must be junior or senior level (courses numbered 3000-4999).

The mission of the College of Theology and Ministry is to promote the intellectual and spiritual development of OBU students through a rigorous engagement with the classical disciplines of religion and philosophy as well as the applied disciplines of Christian ministry, all within the context of OBU’s liberal arts curriculum. To achieve this purpose, the College of Theology and Ministry cooperates with the various academic departments of the University by offering introductory courses in Biblical studies and philosophy in the General Education program as well as a wide range of major emphases in Religion, Philosophy, and Applied Ministry leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree.
