W. Michael Clark joined OBU as the Director of the School of Christian Studies in 2010. Before joining OBU, he was instructor of World Religions at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Director of International Missions at Sojourn Community Church in Louisville, Ky. His academic interests include non-Christian religions, Christian apologetics, and international missions.
Clark was born in Chile, and grew up there as his parents served with the Foreign Mission Board. He earned his B.A. in Religious Studies and Spanish from the University of Arizona. He earned his M.Div. at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, while serving in various roles in children’s, youth, and college ministry in Arizona. He earned a Ph.D. in World Religions at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Clark is passionate about international missions, having served for various lengths of time in South America, North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Clark is married to Jenny, and they have two sons, Scout and Brooks.
