Dr. Kevin Hall joined the faculty of OBU in 1994. In 1998, he was appointed to the Ida Elizabeth and J.W. Hollums Chair of Bible and in 1999 received the Promising Teacher award. A graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. Hall teaches a variety of courses in Old Testament as well as Hebrew and Biblical Ethics. An active member of the Society of Biblical Literature, Hall has presented numerous papers on a wide range of biblical and theological issues to both regional and international meetings of the Society. An active member of University Baptist Church, Shawnee, Hall has served in a variety of capacities in churches throughout Oklahoma. He has taught children’s Sunday school, served as a deacon, an interim pastor and continues to serve as a supply preacher and Bible study leader. He has even braved a youth ski trip or two! In broader service to the church, Hall is a frequent contributor to the Biblical Illustrator, a Bible study resource for Sunday school teachers.

Hall and his wife, Dee Dee, have been married for thirty years. They have three children, Brian, Bonnie, and Bethany. In his spare time, Hall enjoys reading, movies, television, and playing his guitar -- a Yamaha he bought with his first paycheck after his freshman year in college. In his dreams, he retires with Dee Dee and his Yamaha to South Fork, Colorado alongside the highway to Wolf Creek Pass, where he has been skiing for the last thirty five years.
