Linda Goen began her nursing career in 1971, when she earned her BSN from Sacramento State College in California. Recently, she earned her MSN from OBU and completed a six month Integrative Nurse Coach program, receiving her NC-BC through the American Holistic Nursing Credentialing Corporation. She has broad experience in nursing including pediatrics, public health, adult medical/surgical and emergency nursing in both hospital and community settings. Linda has taught sophomore, junior, and senior nursing students at OBU. She primarily teaches in simulation labs and practicum where the nursing students learn psychomotor skills and then apply the skills in clinical settings.
She and her husband, Dr. Lee Goen a professor at OBU, have lived in California, North Dakota, upstate New York, and Guam. Linda enjoys meeting people and practices nursing theory wherever she goes. Linda and Lee are members of the Shawnee Christian Church. Linda believes she never experienced nursing burnout because each day brings new opportunities. She believes healing can take place even at time of death and that every client has unique experiences and strengths to help them seek wellbeing.
