Dr. Foulis grew up in Matamatoros, Mexico, and moved to the U.S. in 1992. She has been teaching for the past 10 years. She has taught at an elementary school, community college and two major universities. Dr. Foulis taught Spanish language and literature, English composition and literature courses.

Dr. Foulis came to OBU in the fall of 2011 and will teach all levels of Spanish courses. Her passion is teaching literature, language and service-learning courses. Her main research interests are the literature of US Latina and African American women writers, immigration, history, and cultural studies. Dr. Foulis enjoys reading, watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
